What are you working on next?

How do you discover the ebooks you read?

Most of the time I discover new books by reading web sites, news reports, or blog reviews. I am always on the lookout for new political books and love reading anything by Ann Coulter (hilarious) or David Horowitz.

If I am not able to buy the Kindle versions outright I usually download the free chapters and get the feel for the book.

If it is really good I will buy it or just add it to my Amazon book wish list, which has a gazillion books on it.

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?

6th grade – The Horse

I broke the writers rule of only writing what you know.

I had never been on a horse, seen a horse up close, or even knew anyone who owned a horse.

I had just read Black Beauty for the first time and figured horses worthy of a great literary effort.

We were taught simple book binding and I was able to create the cover, illustrate, and write the next with my own cursive. That book is tucked in a box somewhere.

What is your writing process?

No real rules or stratagem.

It is pure opportunism. House quiet, kids asleep, I’m in the mood to type… etc

What do you read for pleasure?

Novels. Currently enjoying The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman which I purchased on Kindle last year the week the movie opened. I have read it three times now and enjoyed it just as much, or more, every time.

What is your e-reading device of choice?

Kindle

When did you first start writing?
I really took off at the age of eleven when I was given my first journal.

What motivated you to become an indie author?

Five rejection leters for my first book and no manuscripts returned. It was getting expensive to mail out those packets. My brother Dave convinced me to go digital and I never looked back.
