Zion National Park Flooding @JennyHatch

My husbands family has lived in southern Utah for generations and the recent floods in Zions Park reminded me of a story his ancestor shared in a journal.

The family was traveling in a wagon when the Holy Spirit prompted Great Great Great grandpa to stop on the top of a small elevated part of the desert and wait.

His wife and children were curious why they had stopped.

He did not know, but they stayed there for most of the day.

A late afternoon storm hit out of the blue and all around them was raging flood waters.

But they were safe!

I have heard that people are missing in Zions right now. I am praying for them, especially the hikers doing the narrows and for all the search and rescue folks.

My movie was crafted with bits of footage from social media.
